Eugene Boateng

Eugene Boateng was born in Düsseldorf in 1985. He grew up there with his seven siblings in the well-known multicultural, socially mixed Kiefernstraße. His environment inspired him to his first dance attempts, which soon reached a professional level. With his dance he celebrated great successes and was part of various music video productions. Eugene made his first acting experiences through collaboration with lecturers at the Ernst Busch Acting School as well as the UdK Berlin. Since then he has been part of many cinema and television productions, such as the feature film BORGA, the TV movie ANNIE - KOPFÜBER INS LEBEN or the Netflix series TRIBES OF EUROPA. In BORGA he plays the role of Kojo in front of the camera. Behind the camera he was responsible for the creative und cultural authenticity.

York-Fabian Raabe

„BORGA“ is the feature film debut of the award-winning director York-Fabian Raabe. He studied at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb). Based in Berlin he focuses on artistic, social and cultural relevant movies, like the African refugee tragedy „Between Heaven and Earth“ and the Ghanaian e-waste documentary „Children of Sodom“. They won numerous awards and were screened at the most renowned international film festivals.

Co-Founder of TD Afrique Films, which is an independent production company developing scripted and non-scripted Films, TV and podcasts. Founded by Tony Tagoe and Danny Damah, with the aim of telling emotionally compelling diverse stories with fresh voices.

ALEXANDER WADOUH

Alexander Wadouh was born in 1979. Since 1999 he has been working in the film industry within a variety of production areas. He completed his studies in film production at the DFFB in 2006. Between then and 2009 he worked for the production company „Essential Film GmbH“ on numerous international art-house movies, as well as for the French World Sales „Coproduction Office“. In 2006 he founded his own film production company „Chromosom Film GmbH“ to develop and produce national and international projects for all distribution channels. All of his films have won awards around the world (six German Film Awards, a European Film Award, a Bronze Lion, etc.) and were shown and are still been shown in cinemas worldwide.

Tell relevant emotional stories!

The aim of East End Film is to provide audiences with films that challenge and touch emotionally and intellectually. The young and ambitious production company was founded in 2011 by siblings Elaine and Tommy Niessner. They specialize in international co-productions and are constantly expanding their network. The selection of their fabrics is strongly geared to the topics covered therein. It aims to create an emotional access to topics of social relevance. Since 2011 East End Film has produced two feature films and three short films.

Eric Golub

He began as an actor and starred in several movies, including in the movie “Rückenwind” by Jan Krüger, which celebrated its premiere in 2009 at the Berlinale. After studying philosophy, musicology, and film-directing, his path has been leading him behind the camera. As an assistant director, he started his creative partnership with the director York-Fabian Raabe. With whom he founded the social media agency ViewYork Media.

Tobias von dem Borne

Tobias von dem Borne grew up in northern Germany and studied at dffb (Berlin) and California Institute of the Arts (Los Angeles). His teachers were Michael Ballhaus, Jean Pierre and Luc Dardenne, Phedon Papamichael and Martin Langer. While studying he started working as a DOP for feature and documentary films, as well as for music videos and commercials. Currently in post-production is the doc BRIMSTONE & GLORY! (D: Viktor Jakovleski ) in collaboration with COURT 13 (4 Oscar nominations 2013, Beasts of the Southern Wild). In January 2016, the „bloody romantic comedy“ SEX & CRIME (starring among others Wotan Wilke Möhring, Fabian Busch and Claudia Eisinger) was nominated for the Max Ophüls Prize 2016.

Bastian Schneider

Bastian Schneider grew up in Germany and Ghana, where he discovered his love for moving images. Over the years, he was able to try out various media fields, among others, before finally sticking to film. After training as an audiovisual media designer, studying digital film and sociology, he now devotes most of his work to film projects that build bridges between the two continents.
